Buying from a Dubai shop when you live in Abu Dhabi
Most of the shops we search are based in Dubai, and the drive between the two cities is well over 100 km. That changes three things.
Delivery terms
Each shop sets its own delivery area, fee and schedule. Ask whether it delivers to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain or Al Dhafra and what it charges before you pay.
Delivery time
A delivery to Abu Dhabi may run on fixed days of the week, so ask for the date, not just the number of days.
Returns
Ask who collects a return and what it costs. A free return in Dubai can be a paid collection in Abu Dhabi.
Seeing a piece in person
If a sofa or bed you like is only on show in Dubai, it may still be worth one trip: a sofa's seat depth and a fabric's colour are hard to judge from photos. Plan the visit for a weekend, and shortlist first so the trip is to confirm, not to browse. Use the "Has a UAE showroom" filter to see only products from shops with a showroom anywhere in the UAE.
Check the size before it travels
A wrong-sized sofa is harder to return over a long distance. Across the shops we search, about a third of sofas and nine in ten beds list their dimensions. Set the width and depth your room can take on the tape-measure sliders, and measure the lift, doors and corridor of your building too. Many towers ask you to book the service lift for deliveries.
When you ask a Dubai shop about delivery to Abu Dhabi, ask three things in one message: the fee to your area, the first available date and whether assembly is included. Keep the reply; it is your record if the plan changes.
